Marilyn Macholan, 93,of Linwood, died Wednesday, April 9, 2025, at Edgewood Vista in Columbus.

Visitation Sunday 2-4 P.M. with 4P.M. Rosary Kracl Funeral Chapel, Schuyler
Visitation Monday one hour prior to Mass, at the church

Marilyn was born in Schuyler, July 6, 1931, to Phillip and Tillie (Kracman) Kriz. She attended grade school in Linwood district #2 and graduated from Schuyler High School in 1948. On November 19, 1949, she married Wilfred Macholan at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Abie. Three children were born to this union. They lived and farmed north of Linwood until Wilfred's death in 1983. Marilyn remained on the farm a total of 73 years. She loved polkas and was always ready to go to a dance. She was a member of the Linwood Birthday Club, Eagles Auxiliary in Schuyler, Morse Bluff Legion Auxiliary and St. George Catholic Church in Morse Bluff.
Marilyn is survived by her daughters, Sandra Brandl and Dawn Spence, both of Linwood, seven grandchildren; Amanda Brandl of Charleston, South Carolina, Casey Brandl and Aaron Nelson of North Bend, Brittny (Wade) Samek of Lincoln, Megan Macholan and Kyle Motes of Columbus, Erin Macholan of Lincoln, Colt Spence of Morse Bluff and Jordan (Joni) Kremlacek of Morse Bluff, eight great-grandchildren; Kaydance, Maverick, Noah, Tatum, Hayden, Jemma, Kaya and Kealan. Also surviving is her sister, Janice Egr of Linwood, sister-in-law Darlene Macholan,Linwood and special friend, Mel Heimann of Columbus.. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son William Macholan, grandson Clay Macholan, sister-in-law Viola Hovorka and brothers-in-law Ed Hovorka, Leonard Macholan and Ernie Egr.
